Let me say first and foremost that I am not talking down about the police.
I would never do that… mostly because the cops can arrest me or shoot me dead at any time with no reason.
I will admit that legalization has passed the state government so now I love the police a lot more than I used to! The local cops were consistently a source of tremendous anxiety for me, usually because I carried a lot of illegal cannabis packages in our car. I would drive over to the next state once or twice a week in addition to get weed from 1 of their legal cannabis dispensaries. Then I would have to get all the way back to my home, terrified of getting pulled over. As much as I love smoking cannabis, I do not want to go to prison for it! Recently cannabis reform finally cleared the final hurdle by winning the popular vote with the amazing citizens of the state. Now I don’t need to look at the cops as the enemy any more, because cannabis isn’t contraband. That doesn’t mean that people are allowed to drive around while smoking marijuana, of course. Cannabis is now treated the same as alcohol is, which means it is legal to buy in addition to use, but you can’t endanger other people while under its influence! Finally I live in a state where it is as easy to buy cannabis as it is to get a gun. It consistently struck me as weird that firearms were easier to obtain than marijuana, when 1 is used for violence in addition to the other is used for medicine.
